Mother of Peace

My great grandmother Nora was a clan mother. Among her special qualities she was a listener and healer. In the painting I show the Peacemaker behind her, and she is listening to the message of Peace. Around her on the wall are symbols of my memories with her: gathering healing plants, baking pies, and a special toy orangutan she kept at her house for when we visited. I remember her love and warmth, which brought and continues to bring Peace. The Women, the lifegivers, bring Peace through their wisdom and listening and care for the life processes of our world,and this manifests in the love they teach to the children who learn to live in Peace.
