Our 2025 Husking Bee was hit with scheduling challenges when the threat of heavy rain caused us to have to reschedule our first date. Keeping the corn dry during harvest is essential to prevent mold and rot, so we decided to wait for clearer skies.
Thanks to our amazing volunteers, the rescheduled event was a great success. Together, we husked all the corn we'd harvested this season! Our hospitality volunteers kept everyone fueled with a delicious white corn lunch utilizing our updated farmhouse kitchen.
Now the corn will continue drying through early spring. Once it's ready, we'll process it into hulled corn and corn flour for our educational programs here at Ganondagan. You'll also be able to find some available for purchase in our gift shop.
Nya:wëh (thank you) to our volunteers, we could not do this without you!
